Massachusetts Nurses Association
Endorses Sonia Chang-Díaz for State Senate

Cites Her Experience and Community Commitment

CANTON. Mass -- The Massachusetts Nurses Association, the state's largest union of registered nurses and health care professionals, recently announced their endorsement of Sonia Chang-Díaz for State Senate for the Second Suffolk District.

In making the announcement, MNA President, Beth Piknick, highlighted Chang-Díaz's experience and commitment to the community. "The Massachusetts Nurses Association is proud to support Sonia Chang-Diaz in her bid for the State Senate representing the Second Suffolk district," said Beth Piknick, MNA President. "Sonia is a bright, creative and dedicated advocate for social justice who will stand up for high quality, affordable patient care in the legislature. She has an outstanding track record of public service and community activism, and we need more like her."

Chang-Díaz who narrowly defeated Dianne Wilkerson in the Democratic primary responded by saying, "It's a real honor to have the backing of the Massachusetts Nurses," said Chang-Díaz. "MNA does incredible work—both to serve the patients and families of the Commonwealth on the front lines of our health care system, and to get strong progressives elected to our State House. I look forward to working with MNA members and leaders to bring about important changes in Massachusetts—changes that improve patient care and protect workers' rights."
